SUPREME COURT TO DISCUSS REORGANIZATION OF LOCAL MUNICIPALITY FUNDING.
The Estonian Supreme Court's general assembly will today, Tuesday, discuss the constitutionality of redistributing income tax revenue from wealthier to less wealthy local municipalities. ERR's portal will provide a live stream of the hearing, which begins at 10:30 AM.
The Constitutional Review Chamber's session will address a petition from the Saue Municipal Council. The council argues that amendments to the Income Tax Act are unconstitutional because they fail to guarantee the municipality sufficient financial resources to fulfill its statutory duties.
